Kevin Spacey in a Modern Day Film Noir

It’s a breath of fresh air when a filmmaker decides to look at the Golden Era of Hollywood and pull the magic of those days and bring it in into the 21st century.

Film director Michael Zaiko Hall does just that with a film being touted as Kevin Spacey’s comeback film. Peter Five Eight is based on the film genre of film noir.

Film noir is a cinematic term used primarily to describe stylized Hollywood crime dramas, particularly those that emphasize cynical attitudes and motivations. The 1940s and 1950s are generally regarded as the “classic period” of American film noir.

If you like suspense thrillers, you will enjoy Peter Five-Eight. Kevin Spacey isn’t the one that actually carries this film, it is actress Jet Jandreau. I loved her quirky, classy exterior, who’s interior is about as shabby as the interior of the Corvette she drives in the movie

Jet is a star. She handles the lead role with confidence and your eyes are completely fixated on her. We all know that Kevin Spacey can act anything handed to him. He is theater-trained and he never gives a bad performance in anything he has ever done. Regardless of the elephant in the room, his acting rivals with the best in Hollywood.

Actress Rebecca De Mornay plays Brenda, a woman still living in the same town who still looks for love, but a silent confidence lurks under that vulnerable exterior. Her character should not be overestimated as she packs a punch and you’ll see why when you watch Peter Five-Eight.

Jet discusses her approach to portraying such a complex character to her experiences on set and working with Kevin Spacey, as well as offering unique insights into the film’s production and her artistic journey. Her portrayal of ‘Sam’s’ unraveling psyche promises to be a cornerstone in the film, shedding light on the intricate layers that define human behavior.
